I got this for a "kids in need" Christmas drive. Every little girl needs something like My Little Pony, and this was a good set.

I am giving it as a Christmas gift, so it has not been open and played with yet. I have given it all 5 stars in the hopes that it is worthy of those 5 stars.

"It is fun, but there are big changes in Ponyville which affect how your kids can play" 2009-09-08
By A. Woodley (New Zealand)
There seem to be big changes in Ponyville at the moment. These new playsets and ponys, even the packagaing is different, and they don't adapt seamlessly with the old ones

My kids love the new hairstyles in a snap ponys, but the new playsets, the pony tails are getting more and more elaborate, and if you try to fit them into the older style stuff (like the tea cup parade) they are too big

Also the hole in the ponies is now on the other foot - so they don't easily snap into place.

You will notice that they are using new moulds for the ponys - the ponys faces are more animated than before too not a bad thing, but I thought the old pony's looked sweet. These look slightly manic.

The colours of this house fit in with the other ponyville stuff village, and it is quite nice, but the little kitchen things seemed really garish in colour (is their a new designer?)

Overall it is a nice toy, it has ponyville theme music which plays and you can easily put this alongside the rest of the ponyville village.

If you are collecting the new ponys in the 'hairstyles in a snap' this one will fit in well with other hairstyles.

As far as I can see there are four sets just released in this new series with the new packaging and the new style ponies. I guess this is the way ponyville is going. My kids like them, but not as much as the older style ponies

 "Sweetie Belle's Gumball House" 2009-09-03
By Elizabeth G. (WA)
This is one of the newest Ponyville homes that was released in 2009 and will probably be one of the 'hot toys' for Christmas 2009. My DD has almost all of the Ponyville homes and her grandmother sent this one to her a few weeks ago. It is really cute!

It is the same bright fushia color as Pinkie Pie's house and others. When it is closed, it looks like a gumball machine. They have an interesting elevator attached to the side that Sweetie Belle rides up to her bedroom. It locks in place and then later, when she wants to go downstairs, you push a little button to unlock it and she twirls down while music plays.

What I really like about this house is that it has a built-in kitchen! The oven opens and there is a button you can push to turn the light on (and it also plays the theme song). The fridge opens and you can put in food from your other playsets! It comes with 2 wigs for Sweetie Belle, which is nice, and other accesories like a toothbrush/toothpaste set for the bathroom.

I've noticed that on the newer 2009 Ponyville ponies (the ones with the detachable hair), the hole on their foot is on the opposite side; they cannont be put onto some of the older pieces like the mail car. Similarly, the older ponies cannot be placed onto the newer items like the see-saw that comes with this house. I'm not really sure why they did that, but it isn't too annoying yet.

The only thing about the gumball house that I dislike: when you open the gumball, the bathroom and the 'dining room' will not fit under each other to make a continuous wall. Instead, the 'living room' has to sit in front of the bathroom. My daughter is not bothered by this, so it doesn't seem to hinder her playtime.

Overall, it is another well made and durable Ponyville house. Very cute and creative - it's sure to spark the imagination of your little girl. Mine loves it!
