"First doll my child has liked" 2009-12-30

The doll is large enough to keep my 7 year old intrigued. She likes the locking journal that comes with the doll. She has had many barbies and bratz and this is the one she consistently plays with. My daughter says "I love her;she does lots of things" Just to clarify- the things are imaginative.

"Doll's story line is a bit too mature" 2009-12-21
By DIY Diva! (USA)
This doll is very cute with age appropriate clothes, but the quality isn't anywhere near that of the American Girl dolls they are trying so hard to bash. The eyelashes are painted on and the eyes don't open and close. The outfits are very cheaply made, and the shoes are fabric. What I was most disappointed in, however was the story line that goes along with the dolls. In the "journal" that comes with Kaitlin there is a lot about boys and crushes, not to mention gossipy bits about someone the girls (dolls) don't like. These are not messages that I want to send to my seven year old. I'm trying very had to keep my little girls little in a world that is making it increasingly difficult. So while crushes and the like all seem cute and innocent, it's still not something I want my elementary school age daughter to focus on. So, we'll keep the doll to have tea parties with and play dress up, but the "journal" goes and we won't be buying any more products from the BFC Ink line.

"Nice doll, but beware of missing details!" 2009-10-23
By S. Magoon (Hingham, MA United States)
This Kaitlin doll is lovely, a nice big size and comes with another outfit and diary. She seems well-made so far, and my daughter, who is almost 4, was THRILLED with her. However, you have to pay close attention to what you are actually getting from this line: The product shots of the dolls seem to show lovely "real" eyelashes on their eyes, but in fact they have painted on eyelashes, giving them a bit more bug-eyed look than in their pictures. The Calista doll is shown in her original outfit (on the package itself - Amazon is actually showing what she comes with accurately) to be wearing leg-warmers and a scarf, but those DO NOT come with the doll. Likewise, many of the extra outfits you can buy separately are pictured right on the packages at much higher-quality with lots of details like houndstooth patterns, beading, and buttons, that if you compare to the clothing actually included in the package, are NOT on the items. It's a little sketchy that this company likes to Photoshop or enhance their products right on the package when the lower-quality, less-detailed stuff they are actually selling is right there for comparison! Don't go by the photos: be sure and compare in person before you buy!

 "Very Cute Doll" 2009-10-21
By T (Midwest, IN)
I bought this doll along with the Calista doll for my 7 yr. What you see in the box on the shelf is what you get. A 18 inch doll, a journal and an extra outfit. The doll is not meant to do magic tricks or talk to your child its meant to be played with and enjoyed by children. For the 2 bad reviews I agree with the comment if your little one liked the doll why are you upset? And the other reviewer on the body proportions its a doll, the large head ect is not a bad image for a little girl? There are books also with this doll that I was able to purchase for my daughter and she is having a hard time reading the cursive but shes working on it. These dolls are not comparable to other dolls that I have seen just yet :) My daughter can not wait to get her B.F.C. club together with her friends! We have A.G. dolls and this one is not comparable of course but it wasnt meant to be :) I do recommend this doll for 7 and up
